Take 5 - Monochrome Workwear

One of the trends that seems to come around again and again - and that I love is monochrome.  Luckily with my colouring I can wear both black and white (for many people this is not the case).  For this week's Take 5 I decided to work on monochrome workwear and experiment with textures rather than colour.  Any of these outfits could be spiced up with coloured shoes, scarves, jewellery, a coat or scarf and in reality that is what I would probably do.

As most workwear on a daily basis in New Zealand tends to be less formal that suits, I started with a pair of Monsoon charcoal wool, high waisted trousers and my favourite No1 Shoe Warehouse leather court shoes.

Black kobi tie on belt (unknown), Polka dot blouse (thrifted).

Wool houndstooth cardigan (thrifted), Gap white frilly singlet.

Supre white long sleeve T, Next charcoal waistcoat.

Glassons merino polo jumper, H&M statement necklace.

Postie Plus drapey vest and thick black belt, Glassons white shirt.

I can't believe I own three black and two charcoal work skirts, two grey and two black trousers and one grey suit. In the last twelve months I haven't worn much work wear, but when I go back to part-time management consulting next month I'll be dusting off this part of my wardrobe!

In reality today, this is what I wore!

Next boyfriend jeans, Dorothy Perkins grey singlet, Glassons drapey black cardigan, Headband (unknown).
