Get a Grip: The Ten & Two Closet Challenge


Lately my closet has been an uninspiring disaster - I mean, just look at it! I think most of us have (at one point or another) stood in our closet looking at a TON of options but none of them seem appealing. We avoid those certain shirts that hang wrong, the pants that make us look 12 weeks pregnant, and the shoes that remind us of the time we threw up on them from food poisoning (oh wait, is that just me?). Point is, we avoid certain items in our closet but we still hang onto them. We let them clutter our closets like raisins in a cookie. I try to purge, but when I start tossing things into a bag I begin imagining ways I could wear it and what kind of potential it has. Then they just go back on the hanger into the island of misfits and continue to be ignored.

I've decided that rather than think about how I’m going to style my closet-outcasts, I’m just going to do it. I have decided to create a challenge that my closet and I have needed for a while. I’m going to pull out 10 items from my closet that I always avoid, and I’m going to wear them throughout the next two weeks. I will style them for the day (and night if I need to) and if they still don’t feel or look right, they’re outta there.

The Rules:
-Pick 10 items from your closet that you avoid or have never worn (include accessories if you'd like).
-Wear at least one of those items every day for 2 weeks.
-Take photos so you can see what other people were looking at all day.
-Make a decision; to keep or not to keep. No second guesses or second chances!
